After a short hiatus, Soundcheck, the live music platform known for spotlighting Jamaican talent in an intimate returns on Thursday, February 26, at Dubwise Café in Kingston. Powered by Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum, the series resumes with fast-rising dancehall sensation Ayetian headlining the next highly anticipated staging.

Since its launch, the platform has built a reputation for curating performances that go beyond the mainstream stage, offering fans the chance to experience artistes up close and fully immersed in their craft. For Wray & Nephew, supporting spaces like Sound Check continues its longstanding commitment to investing in the cultural moments that shape Jamaica’s music landscape.

“Wray & Nephew Sound Check in Kingston means a lot to me because it’s home, and performing at home always brings a different kind of energy and responsibility. I love what I do, and when this opportunity came up, it was an easy yes,” Ayetian shared ahead of the event. “Fans can expect passion, authenticity, and a performance that truly reflects who I am as an artist today.” The deejay is set to deliver familiar hits including “Balance,” “Tip,” and “Weh Yo Deh Pan,” alongside a few surprises.

Ayetian says his preparation has been intentional, blending fan favourites with songs he rarely performs live. The goal is to take the audience on a journey - from his early days writing poetry to his current evolution as a recording artiste. “It’s not just about performing hits, it’s about creating an experience,” he explained.

The intimate setting of Dubwise is expected to amplify that connection. According to Ayetian, performing in a close-knit live space allows for real-time interaction. “You can actually feel the crowd, their reactions, their energy and that allows you to connect on a deeper level. In a setting like that, every lyric carries differently and every moment feels more personal.”

Known for fusing dancehall energy with reflective, real-life themes, Ayetian hopes audiences leave with a deeper understanding of who he is beyond the surface. “If they walk away feeling something genuine - whether that’s motivation, reflection or connection, then I’ve done what I came to do,” he added.

“By investing in platforms like Wray & Nephew Sound Check, the brand helps ensure cultural continuity.”
