Dancehall giant Vybz Kartel returned to the UK in commanding fashion, delivering a 90-minute headline set that captivated more than 60,000 fans as he closed out Reggae Land's biggest-ever staging on the festival's third and final day.
The World Boss made a dramatic entrance beneath a towering crown that framed the stage, immediately setting the tone for one of the weekend's most anticipated performances. Running through a hit-filled catalogue, Kartel gave UK fans the show they had been waiting for in his first British appearance of 2026.
During the performance, Kartel also appeared to reveal that his fiancée, Sidem Öztürk, is pregnant with their first child together. The dancehall star paused to affectionately rub her baby bump before telling the crowd to “read between the lines,” prompting cheers from thousands of fans and seemingly confirming the couple’s pregnancy. He then launched into his 2009 hit, “Come Breed Me,” drawing an even louder reaction from the audience.
While the onstage announcement quickly made headlines around the world, Kartel had first hinted that he and Sidem Öztürk were expecting their first child together in May ahead of his concert in the Cayman Islands. His Reggae Land appearance, however, marked the first time he publicly acknowledged the pregnancy before a live audience, sparking widespread reaction across social media.
The appearance followed Kartel's history-making run in the UK last year, when he became the first dancehall artiste to sell out London's O2 Arena twice.
After bringing Reggae Land 2026 to a memorable close, Kartel now turns his attention to another major UK date - his return to the O2 Arena on September 9 for the highly anticipated Gaza vs Gully concert alongside longtime rival Mavado.
