Vybz Kartel and Shenseea link again for “Panic”
Dancehall megastar Vybz Kartel reunites with dancehall superstar Shenseea for their upcoming collaboration, “Panic,” set for release on Friday, February 20. Both artistes teasing the drop over the weekend, sharing snippets of the visuals on Saturday and sparking excitement across social media.
The single is produced by Kartel’s longtime manager, TJ Records, alongside Kartel’s own imprint, Vybz Kartel Muzik. “Panic” marks their second collaboration, nearly ten years after their 2016 smash hit “Loodi,” the breakout single that helped propel Shenseea onto the international stage.
The track is expected to serve as the lead single from Kartel’s forthcoming album God and Time. Sources confirmed to Kaboom Magazine that the project will feature 14 tracks and include several major collaborations.
The anticipation arrives as Kartel continues to dominate the charts. His latest release, “Born Ready” currently sits at #1 on the iTunes Reggae Songs chart, while “God Says” holds the #3 spot and “Sym,” featured on the viral WYFL riddim, occupies #4 on the chart.
Their previous collaboration, “Loodi” has amassed over 51 million views on YouTube since its release in November 2016, becoming one of the defining dancehall hits of that era.
For Shenseea, the reunion arrives at a strategic time, as the Jamaican superstar has also hinted that her third studio album is set for release later this year.
