Vybz Kartel announces God and Time album

Dancehall kingpin Vybz Kartel has announced his upcoming album “God and Time,” set for release next month, alongside a title track of the same name.

In a brief statement shared on his social media platforms, Kartel revealed that the project will feature a wide range of collaborations, with a strong focus on music for the ladies. “Whole heap a collaborations, whole heap a songs for the ladies,” he said. “Who nuh do certain type a lyrics, nuh gangsta lyrics, the girls dem ago love it. But there’s also deep, inside lyrics for the man dem too.”

The announcement comes after a massive first year since his release, during which Kartel enjoyed a historic 2025 run. The deejay sold out iconic arenas worldwide including Barclays Center and O2 Arena during his World Boss Tour, reasserting his global pull and setting the stage for what many see as a timely album moment. Sources have confirmed that God and Time is a 14-track project and will include several high-profile collaborations.

Among the producers involved are several big names, including Grammy-nominated producer JonFX, a longtime collaborator of Kartel, alongside other notable figures from the scene. The project also features contributions linked to late rapper XXXTENTACION.

Last year, the entertainer teased potential features from the likes of Drake, Wizkid, Cardi B, and Nicki Minaj. While the release timeline may have shifted, insiders suggest the album is still expected to include major international link-ups.

Looking ahead, the 50-year-old deejay is set to headline Reggae Land in the UK on August 2, with additional concerts planned across Africa and the United States later this year.

Kartel’s extensive discography spans 17 albums dating back to his 2003 debut Up 2 Di Time, including defining projects such as Pon Di Gaza from 2010, Kingston Story from 2011, the 2016’s King of the Dancehall, and last year, among others. His project Heart & Soul earned him a second Grammy nomination in the Best Reggae Album category.
