Driven by a passion ignited during his youth in Jamaica, multi-talented artist, singer, and producer Sahir Cashii makes a powerful return after five years with a 5-track EP titled Lethal Elegance.
Released earlier this year, the project blends elements of Hip Hop, Dancehall, and a touch of Afropop. The EP narrates Sahir’s personal journey—ranging from the spiritual reflections of “Thank You God” to the introspective growth of “Growing Up Daily,” and the self-actualization expressed in “Peak Life,” showcasing his evolution and maturity.
Sahir never imagined himself recording music but said he was “called to play a role.” And so he has blended nostalgic melodies with modern drum patterns. His use of rap throughout his music reflects the evolving soundscape of contemporary Jamaican music, drawing inspiration from both classic and modern rap influences.
“Basically, I’d describe my style as more urban. I use elements I learned during my early years in the studio in Jamaica, and it’s reflected in my work,” Sahir shared.
The dynamic Jamaican visionary now splits his time between New York and Jamaica, curating and nurturing art as part of his life’s purpose. An urban music singer, rapper, and producer, he hails from Firehouse in Kingston 11 and attended the University of the West Indies, where he studied Management Studies for two years. During that time, he began developing his creative projects, expressing his passion for music through various artistic mediums.
