Diving deeper into the industry and all it entails, we take a look at Romario Clarke better known as ZJ Romzii. A jack of all trades, a prominent DJ, statistic officer, and event planner in Jamaica.

While speaking with Kaboom Magazine, the talented selector expounded on the start of his experience and exposure in the music industry. "As a young Dj my experience started during Covid, I used the idea of me being mostly online to establish myself and I spent most of my time during Covid practicing", he expressed.

He further continued by acknowledging the contribution of known Jamaican selectors, Dj Mac and Dj Kashmatic along with his manager Gabrielle Curling who all played integral roles in the story of his success. "I worked with multiple deejays such as Dj Mac and Dj Kashmatic who played vital roles in my success today in the Dj world. I also thank my current manager Gabrielle Curling who molded talent into what the world sees today", he further added.

Clarke has been known to DJ at many prominent events here in Jamaica such as; Zimi Seh Riva, 658 at club Mecca and one of the most vivacious events, The Jamaica Carnival. When asked about his view on the current state of dancehall, Clarke passionately expressed his feelings about the new era.

"Honestly I don’t believe it’s really fair to compare dancehall. There are issues arising from specific areas. The things people complain about depends on personal preference", he explained. "People have a very unfair way of wanting to judge the eras of music. I feel like as we progress in life things will change we can’t expect the same style as music evolves", he further added.

Expanding into event planning, the young DJ went on to give a brief insight on his event held weekly known as 'Shayo Thursdays'.

Working as a team of three, Clarke continued to expound on the event’s inception and worked alongside co-event planners Chief Tin Campbell and Adrian Lawrence Samuda. "My former manager from Dream Weekend's team brought the idea to him. He decided that with my relevance in the industry, I would be a good partner and face for the event", he added. "Since its beginning, we have had DJs such as Kashmatic and Mac who definitely brought attention to the event", he continued.
