Florida-based dancehall artist Kyle Xpress continues to build momentum with his 10-track EP "Uprisen," which debuted at #1 on the iTunes Reggae Chart, a major achievement that reflects the dedication he’s poured into his craft from the start.
The EP features the standout single “Accordingly” with Travis Bull and was composed by rising talent Disaster Music, a fan favorite that was already making noise prior to the release. Another highlight, "Lonely," produced by Gass Boss Instrumental, dives into Kyle’s emotional side. Tracks like “Let Mi Thru,” “Ziggy,” “Wring Out The Mop,” and “Inna Di Trap” further demonstrate his versatility, lyrical growth, and distinct voice as an independent force in dancehall.
Born Kyle Henry in Waterhouse, Kingston, a community known for its musical legacy, he is the son of the late Dathan Henry, former manager of reggae legend Garnett Silk. Despite the strong legacy behind him, Kyle remains focused on carving his own lane in the industry.
Before his recent project, Kyle began his journey with a basic home studio setup during high school, recording late nights, writing lyrics, and shaping his sound. He worked with producers like Traveli Records, CJKing Entertainment, and Bingie Promotions, releasing songs and independently shooting music videos—all before dropping his first official EP in 2018. These early experiences helped him refine his style, build confidence, and develop the strong work ethic he's known for today.
In 2024, he dropped the single “Rich Mi Seh,” a gritty street anthem reflecting his hunger and drive. Produced by CJKing Entertainment and Slickwidit Productions, with visuals by Safehouze Studios, the video premiered on May 10 and quickly racked up over 31,000 views on YouTube, fueling anticipation for his next move.
The success of Uprisen didn’t happen overnight—it came from years of sacrifice, late-night studio sessions, and relentless dedication. For Kyle Xpress, reaching #1 wasn’t just a chart milestone; it marked a meaningful step in a journey built on authenticity. “I’m humbled, but it means the hard work is paying off. Now mi just hungry for more,” said the Kingston native, who is now aiming to collaborate with more renowned producers.
