Skillibeng inches toward second gold as “Jump”

Global crossover hit “Jump” by South African afro-pop sensation Tyla, featuring dancehall star Skillibeng and American rapper Gunna, has earned Gold status eligibility from the RIAA, after surpassing 500,000 equivalent units sold in the United States.

The label is currently handling the formal certification process, which includes submitting verified sales and streaming data, paying a certification fee, and undergoing an audit. Only after completing these steps will the RIAA officially award Gold certification.

The track had previously been certified Gold in Canada by Music Canada in July 2024, after surpassing 40,000 units, marking Skillibeng’s first-ever Gold certification.

With the RIAA milestone, “Jump” would become Skillibeng’s second Gold-certified single, if confirmed. His breakout 2020 hit “Crocodile Teeth” was also certified Silver in the UK in 2023, with over 200,000 units sold.

“Jump” earns the E-Syde deejay multiple Billboard chart placements, debuting at #14 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs chart and #6 on the US Afrobeats Songs chart. In the UK, the track opened at #1 on the UK Afrobeats Songs chart and debuted at #80 on the Official UK Singles Chart.

The track remains Skillibeng’s most-streamed single on Spotify, with over 262 million streams to date. However, his feature on Moliy’s Billboard Hot 100 smash “Shake It to the Max (Remix),” alongside Shenseea, is close behind with over 231 million streams, and is well on its way to surpassing it. The latter has already qualified for Gold status in the U.S., further extending Skillibeng’s footprint on the global stage.

Produced by Sammy Soso, “Jump” appears on Tyla’s Grammy-winning self-titled debut album, released on March 22 via Fax/Epic Records.
