Skillibeng Joins Major Lazer on New Global Crossover “Rotate”

The festival favourite featuring the team's newest member, America Foster, Jamaican dancehall star Skillibeng and BEAM officially arrives after months of anticipation

American electronic dance music trio Major Lazer has officially released its long-awaited new single, “Rotate,” featuring the group's newest member, America Foster, alongside Jamaican dancehall star Skillibeng and BEAM.

The track, which had become a fan favourite after being played at recent Major Lazer pop-up events and festival performances around the world, had circulated online ahead of its official release. Its arrival marks the song's first official release from the globally renowned collective.

Anticipation for the record grew even further after Diplo shared an Instagram photo featuring Drake and Skillibeng during the song's early rollout, fueling speculation among fans eager for its release.

“'Me and America made this the very first time we ever met up at my house in Jamaica and we knew then we had something special,” Major Lazer co-founder Diplo explained. “It's taken on a life of its own since then. Every time I've played this song people go totally crazy whether we're in Paris, Mexico City or Seoul. I'm so stoked it's out today.”

For Skillibeng, the collaboration adds another major international crossover feature to his growing résumé as he continues expanding his global presence. The Jamaican deejay has established himself as one of dancehall's most in-demand collaborators, working alongside some of the biggest names in music while steadily introducing his sound to new audiences.

The release also comes as Skillibeng prepares for a special Carnival event at London's iconic KOKO in Camden on August 30, where he has promised surprise guest appearances.

With international hits including "Crocodile Teeth" and "Whap Whap," along with collaborations featuring artists such as Nicki Minaj, Popcaan and French Montana, Skillibeng has emerged as one of the defining voices of a new generation of Jamaican dancehall artists.
