Skatta Burrell dismisses any feud connection to “Victorious”
Jamaican producer and music executive Cordell “Skatta” Burrell is hungry for action once again, riding the unstoppable momentum of his iconic Coolie Dance Riddim with a fresh juggling now loading.
As a member of Vybz Kartel’s management team, Skatta has been previewing the deejay’s new track “Victorious” on the riddim, with snippets circulating on social media in recent days.
However, Burrell is making it clear that the release has no connection to the ongoing lyrical feud between Masicka and Tommy Lee that has dominated headlines. “This song was recorded March 7, 2025, in a hotel room in Florida,” Skatta explained, sharing footage as proof.
He added, “That song was done with a purpose. Vybz Kartel was looking at the path he wants to go, and the plans weh him have. That’s why it did name Focus at the time - we changed the name to Victorious now.”
Skatta has also been teasing more drops from the juggling, including a track from IWaata, with the project being mixed and mastered by Kamal of Big Yard Studios and Redboom Supamix.
The veteran producer is now fully focused on the project following his major partnership deal with Reservoir Media and reggae/dancehall publisher Abood Music, the company that has held the U.S. publishing rights to Coolie Dance via Reservoir since 2020.
