Businesswoman and booking agent Cara Burke joined forces with Live Nation UK and Vybz Kartel’s team to bring a powerhouse lineup of artists to the inaugural Freedom Street Festival in Malta.
The four-day event drew tens of thousands of fans to the European island, with the main stage attracting more than 20,000 people each night. Dancehall heavyweights such as Dexta Daps, Shenseea, Skeng, Jada Kingdom, and others delivered electrifying performances that cemented the festival as a major international showcase for the genre.

“Freedom Street was great. We worked closely with Live Nation, Wasserman and other entities, everything was executed perfectly on the ground with my team,” Burke told Kaboom Magazine. Under her Showtime Services brand, she serves as the booking agent for a number of dancehall stars, including Jada Kingdom, Skeng, Tommy Lee Sparta, and Shaneil Muir, all of whom graced the stage in Malta.
Beyond logistics, Cara also took on a creative role. “I was the concept and creative director for Skeng and Tommy’s set,” she revealed.
Named after Vybz Kartel’s first concert following his release, Freedom Street has already become a magnet for hardcore dancehall fans in Europe. “The event drew massive support from the UK. It’s a great accomplishment for dancehall to show it can succeed in places like Malta,” Cara added.
