Shenseea joins Mariah Carey & Kehlani for addictive new single “Sugar Sweet”

Jamaican superstar Shenseea once again proves her global appeal with the release of "Sugar Sweet", an irresistibly smooth collaboration with pop icon Mariah Carey and R&B star Kehlani. The track dropped on Friday, July 25, as a lead single from Carey’s upcoming album Here For It All, set for release on September 26.

Shenseea delivers a silky-sweet performance that seamlessly blends into the track, perfectly complementing Mariah Carey’s iconic tone, while Kehlani adds her own soulful touch. The single fuses summer pop with Caribbean flavor, creating a sound that feels both nostalgic and refreshing. "Sugar Sweet" is instantly addictive—smooth, catchy, and an absolute must-listen.

The international Jamaican superstar wrote excitedly on her X (formerly Twitter) account: "I can't believe I have a song with you—THEE Mariah Carey. WTF!" Fan reactions quickly followed, with many praising Shenseea’s standout vocals on the track. "I was pleasantly surprised by Shenseea. She did a great job on the record," one listener commented on Twitter.

This moment comes as no surprise. Shenseea has consistently carved a distinct path, setting herself apart from traditional dancehall by blending R&B and pop elements to target international markets. With "Sugar Sweet," she adds another impressive global collaboration to her repertoire, joining previous high-profile link-ups like "Pure Souls" with Kanye West and "Honey Boy" with Purple Disco Machine, which both surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify.

She also features on one of the summer’s hottest tracks, the Billboard Hot 100 hit remix of Moliy’s "Shake It to the Max," featuring Skillibeng—which has amassed over 216 million streams on Spotify and more than 112 million views on YouTube.

As Shenseea continues to grow her global presence, her name is becoming increasingly recognized by international icons, all before turning 30. Her ability to balance her Jamaican flavor with global ambitions has propelled her beyond the dancehall scene and into major stages worldwide.

This weekend, she will host the "Rise and Toast" event in Miami on Sunday, July 27. Looking ahead, she is set to headline "Colours Jouvert" at the SOS (Summer Of Soca) Festival 2025 in Markham, Canada, on August 1, amd also slated to perform at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on August 30 as part of Reggae Fest Massive, curated by top promoter CJ Milan, alongside Alkaline, Capleton, Elephant Man, and more.
