Shaneil Muir joins the nationwide relief efforts
Dancehall artist Shaneil Muir joined national relief efforts in St. James Parish on Wednesday, walking through affected communities to assist residents impacted by Hurricane Melissa.
Muir, who is originally from the Flankers community in Montego Bay, which is located in St. James, participated in a motorcade transporting a truckload of essential supplies alongside fellow dancehall star Skeng. Both artists are managed by Showtime Services Management, underscoring a unified commitment to help rebuild the island.
Muir spent time speaking with residents in some of the hardest-hit areas. She said she was brought to tears by what she described as “damaged yet strong people.” To help meet urgent needs, she personally purchased and donated 150 cases of bottled water, supplementing the goods being distributed.

Shaneil Muir, “Before being public figures, we are humans, and more importantly, we are Jamaicans”
“Before being public figures, we are humans, and more importantly, we are Jamaicans,” said the Yamabella singer.
Cara Burke, the manager for both artists, confirmed their dedication goes beyond charitable action. “Shaneil and Skeng are working to make a significant difference in rebuilding what and where they can,” Burke stated.
Burke also revealed that the intensity of the hurricane has inspired Muir’s next musical project. The singer, who was in Montego Bay during the Category 5 hurricane that ravaged the island, has channeled the emotional experience into new music. Muir, known for her strong and inspiring vocals, is set to release a new single produced by local producer Damage Music. The song was written immediately after her firsthand experience with Hurricane Melissa.
