Dancehall recording artist Roze Don drops his debut EP“Gold Medal”, an 8-track project that targets the ladies with each single.
The Spanish Town-native deejay brings a compelling mix of explicit lyricism and a distinct flow across the EP, blending elements of dancehall with Latin guitar, Afro-fusion, and primarily dancehall beats. From the opening title track “Gold Medal” to the Latin-inspired vibes of “Jamaica,” the love-driven “Without Your Love,” and the seductive collaboration “No Good” featuring Barbie J, the project showcases Roze Don’s versatility and musical flair.
“After a year of recording almost 30 different songs, just to have a hard time choosing the best 8—back and forth on the drawing board, playing with feelings and emotions, showcasing my thoughts for you to hear. This is my EP,” he shared on Instagram.
The project is executive produced by acclaimed producer Countree Hype, with contributions from composers Sage, Fargomatic, and N3monia, as well as mixed by Zimi Famous.
Known for street anthems like “Spain Town Badness,” “Bakshat,” and more, Roze Don (whose given name is Jayvon D. Rose) now enters a new chapter in his career with Gold Medal. The EP is available on all major platforms and is distributed by OneRPM.
