Recording artiste, Gunzell to offload new single; ‘Jah Know’

The Seaview Gardens-based artiste teams up with burgeoning producer, Skelly Dan for a new single; ‘Jah Know’. More singles in the pipeline


Gunzell, 'Jah Jah see it & Jah Jah know"


Recording artiste, Gunzell teams up with rising producer, Skelly Dan for a new song titled, 'Jah Know', set to release on July 16th.


'Jah Know', Is the first song to be released from the upcoming album; ‘Me Verzus Me’ By Skelly Dan, A well-known producer from the community of Seaview Gardens, the home of some of Dancehall’s highly decorated powerhouses; the likes of Shabba Ranks, Bounty Killer, Elephant Man, Boom Dandimite, Dexta Daps, among many others.


“Jah Jah see it & Jah Jah know, were the first words that came from his mouth when the riddim started to play”, explained Skelly Dan about the production process.



Skelly visited Gunzell at his section of the community and while the young artiste was in a heated discussion with fellow artistes in the area, they talked about how big names producers from the community don't support them in their endeavors. "Gunzell asked to hear the latest riddim I have, knowing that I had posted a review of it on my Instagram page, So I knew he had a legendary song as he always calls his songs", he added.


Gunzell recorded the song at 'Frenz For Real' studios in Waterhouse and shared the entire recording process via Instagram Live Streaming, which led to the videographer, Basti Of 'Basti Visuals' offering to do the video for free after hearing the powerful lyrics from the song. The finishing touches were done by ‘Bez HitMaker’ with the beat being initially created by ‘Verzus On Tha Beat’.


Gunzell Is now working on new singles; 'Bobo Rock' & 'Legendary' and aims to solidify his spot within the industry. "It's a legendary movement you know", shared Gunzell, who Skelly described as a real ‘Rasta’, stemming from past controversies surrounding the legitimacy of members of the Rastafari community.


With a powerful song he has a few more in the pipeline


With hopes of getting his songs on Apple Music & Billboard charts, and ultimately winning a Grammy, ‘Jah knows’ is one, he hopes to garner those milestone achievements.
