Jamaican reggae artist Ras-I delivers his new single “Reggae Mountain (Feel No Way),” the first offering from his forthcoming 2026 album, set for release via Ineffable Records.
The track finds Ras-I tapping into the soul of classic roots reggae while giving it a modern, uplifting edge. When he stepped into the studio to shape the record, his goal in the studio was to respect the foundation while pushing the sound forward for a new generation of listeners.
In an era dominated by digital production, Ras-I doubled down on authenticity. “Reggae Mountain (Feel No Way)” was recorded with 100% live instrumentation, creating a rich, organic sound you can feel as much as hear. From the warm basslines to the crisp one-drop drumming, every element breathes.
Produced by Keneil “Drumz,” the rhythmic architect behind the record, the song is anchored by a classic drum-and-bass foundation built on intention rather than showmanship. Live guitars, keys, percussion, and layered harmonies rise steadily on that foundation, giving the track its mountain-like presence: grounded, powerful, and elevating.
“Reggae nah gwaan wid nothing, I’m tired of hearing that,” Ras-I shared, reflecting on a narrative he strongly rejects. That frustration became fuel in the studio, turning the session into a statement on reggae’s unshakeable relevance and global power.
The title “Feel No Way” is more than a lyrical phrase, it reflects a mindset of resilience, confidence, and unwavering belief in the music’s purpose.
As Ras-I continues to build momentum following his Best New Reggae Artist win at the 2024 Caribbean Music Awards, he promises a project that reconnects listeners with reggae’s core, much like his single “Somewhere Wonderful,” which was selected as the official song of the Jamaica Tourist Board earlier this year.
