Koffee’s breakout hit “Toast” goes gold in France
“Toast,” the breakthrough single from Jamaican reggae singer Koffee, has added another international milestone after earning Gold certification in France, surpassing the equivalent of 15 million streams.
The certification was awarded on Thursday, September 3, by SNEP (Syndicat National de l'Édition Phonographique), France’s official music certification body.
Produced by IzyBeats and Walshy Fire of Major Lazer, “Toast” was previously certified Gold in Canada and earned Platinum status in the United Kingdom in 2023 after surpassing 600,000 units.
The song was featured on Koffee’s 2019 EP, Rapture, which went on to win the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album. “Toast” also became Koffee’s first charting single, reaching No. 70 on the UK Singles Chart and No. 47 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart in the United States in 2019.
The enduring hit has also amassed more than 291 million views on YouTube and over 233 million streams on Spotify to date.
The latest milestone comes as Koffee continues a new chapter in her career. On September 4, the Grammy-winning artiste released her four-track EP, Ova So, featuring previously released singles “RAPID FYAH,” featuring Skillibeng, and “KOFFEE,” alongside two new tracks, “Summer Fruits” and “Ova So.” The project was released through UK-based label Promised Land Recordings.
Koffee is also preparing to release her sophomore studio album later this year, following her 2022 debut album, Gifted, which earned a Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album.
