Popcaan joins Davido’s protégé Mightyyout on debut project

International dancehall superstar Popcaan continues to strengthen his African connection with yet another collaboration, this time appearing on the debut project of rising Afropop artist Mightyyout, who is signed to Davido’s label, Davido Music Worldwide. His debut Mightyyard EP is set for release on Friday, September 26th.

“After months of sweat, soul, and sleepless nights, my debut EP is finally ready to meet the world. This project is more than music—it’s my heart, my story, and my beginning,” he wrote excitedly to fans on Instagram. “To make this even more special, I’m blessed to have two icons, Davido and Popcaan, on this project.”

He also revealed the tracklist for the 7-track project, highlighting Popcaan’s feature on the single “Ibadi” and Davido’s appearance on “I Know.”

With his smooth vocals, summery rhythms, and contagious energy, Mightyyout, whose real name Neele Lete Victor, is quickly becoming one of Afropop’s freshest new faces. Splitting his time between Nigeria and the UK, he’s already gaining impressive streaming traction overseas and is widely regarded as one of the most promising artists emerging from Nigeria.

The Unruly Boss himself endorsed the announcement with his signature phrase “Hot Oil,” while his brother Squidell also showed support in the comments.

Davido and Popcaan’s bond has long been proven, with the pair collaborating on hits such as “Risky,” “Dun Rich,” and “My Story.” Their strong connection was once again on display recently when Davido welcomed Popcaan on stage at his sold-out Scotiabank Arena concert in Toronto, performing in front of a massive crowd of 19,800 fans.
