Fresh off the runaway success of the Caribbean Music Awards 2026, Director Nigel Thompson is wasting no time capitalizing on his moment. Thompson, who served as Director of the star-studded awards, is now turning his attention to securing interviews and feature coverage as he promotes both his blossoming career behind the camera and his highly anticipated documentary, Artist Nation, set to premiere on Pavilion Plus on the 5th November, 2026 after which the documentary will be added to Amazon, Roku & Canopy.
The Caribbean Music Awards 2026 was a landmark achievement for Thompson, who brought a distinct visual language and narrative energy to the prestigious event. But his involvement went far deeper than the Director's chair. Thompson's production outfit, Nomad Picture Company, served as one of the event’s executive producers, further expanding its presence in live-event production and broadcasting. Under Thompson’s leadership, the company helped deliver a production that combined cinematic quality with Caribbean cultural authenticity.
“The Caribbean Music Awards was a career-defining moment, not just for me as a Director, but for The Nomad Picture Company as a whole. “We set out to honour the incredible talent of the Caribbean while pushing the creative envelope in how a live event can be experienced on screen.”
“The Caribbean Music Awards was a career-defining moment, not just for me as a Director, but for The Nomad Picture Company as a whole,” shared Thompson. “We set out to honour the incredible talent of the Caribbean while pushing the creative envelope in how a live event can be experienced on screen. The response has been overwhelming, and I'm incredibly proud of what our team accomplished.”
Thompson now turns his attention to Artist Nation, a documentary exploring the lives, struggles and triumphs of artists navigating creativity, healing and identity. While specific details remain under wraps, the project promises to showcase his visually compelling storytelling and commitment to highlighting deeply personal experiences.
“This is the perfect moment to connect with media and audiences alike,” Thompson added. “The Awards showed what Nomad Picture Company can do on a grand scale. Artist Nation shows what we can do when we tell deeply human stories. I'm eager to share both journeys.”
