Valiant takes Male Dancehall Artist of the Year, while Buju Banton, Lila Iké, Chronixx, Masicka and Prince Swanny are among the major Dancehall and Reggae winners in Trinidad & Tobago

The fourth annual Caribbean Music Awards (CMA) has officially concluded its inaugural Elite Weekend Experience in Trinidad & Tobago, bringing together some of the biggest names and rising talents from across the region.

Among the major Dancehall winners, Valiant was named Male Dancehall Artist of the Year, while Trinidad’s Prince Swanny took home Dancehall Album of the Year for Saint. Masicka also earned an award, with “Rich Sex” winning Dancehall Video of the Year.

In the reggae categories, Lila Iké was crowned Female Reggae Artist of the Year, while Grammy-winning icon Buju Banton secured Male Reggae Artist of the Year.

Chronixx’s highly acclaimed album Exile was named Reggae Album of the Year, while rising talent Cholita continued her breakout year by winning Reggae Best New Artist.

Lila Iké added another award with her Masicka-assisted single “Romantic,” which captured Reggae Collaboration of the Year, while Keznamdi received the Reggae Impact Award.
