NeeQah explores the Shadows of love

Rising dancehall-soul artist NeeQah is teaming up with dancehall heavyweight Chronic Law for the new track “Dark,” which arrived on August 27, 2025, via all major streaming platforms.

The track delves into the complex emotional terrain of love strained by betrayal, loyalty tested by pain, and the enduring pull of intimacy amidst heartbreak. Far from a conventional love song, “Dark” presents a sobering narrative of standing by someone during their most troubled times—even when it means sacrificing your own peace.

Chronic Law’s gritty, introspective delivery contrasts strikingly with NeeQah’s melodic vulnerability, resulting in a powerful gendered dialogue that’s rarely explored in dancehall. Together, the pair present an unflinching portrayal of emotional survival and the courage to remain open in the face of repeated wounds.

The drop follows previously released singles from NeeQah, including “Ms. Melanin” featuring Charly Black and the breakout single “Gifted,” which has amassed over 50 million streams to date. She most recently returned with “Sorry to My Ex,” and is currently building momentum toward her upcoming debut album Catharsis, expected in 2026 through her new partnership with TunUpSquad (Upleef).
