Brooklyn-based Grenadian-American singer Mozart Kennedy is carving his path in the music scene with his new single “Trophy,” a Dancehall-inspired track celebrating women, love and self-confidence.

Drawing inspiration from the Dancehall music he grew up listening to, Kennedy blends Caribbean rhythms and smooth melodies with his own Brooklyn sound, delivering a style reminiscent of artistes like Popcaan.

“Trophy” celebrates women’s worth, encouraging them to feel loved, appreciated and confident. For Kennedy, the song came from a place of joy and the desire to make someone special feel valued.

“Dancehall was always playing when I was growing up, and it shaped how I hear melody and rhythm,” said Kennedy. “I wrote ‘Trophy’ because I believe every woman deserves to feel celebrated, not just on special occasions but every day. I had so much fun making it, and I want people to feel that when they press play. Jamaica has given the world so much great music, so sharing this song with Jamaican listeners means a lot to me.”

With “Trophy” now available on all major streaming platforms, Kennedy hopes to connect with audiences in Jamaica and across the Caribbean, embracing the musical culture that helped shape his sound.

“Trophy” is available now on all major streaming platforms.
