Dancehall giants unite with Bounty Killer for historic Barclays Center concert
Dancehall heavyweights Mavado, Aidonia, and Masicka have been confirmed for Bounty Killer’s historic return to the U.S. stage, set for Friday, July 5, at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. The announcement was made Thursday by the event’s promoters, led by acclaimed producer CJ Milan.
The Dancehall General, Bounty Killer, will headline the highly anticipated event, fittingly dubbed “The Return of The Warlord.” Joining him are Mavado and Aidonia—two artists who were once part of his iconic Alliance camp in the mid-2000s, as well as Masicka, who has often credited Bounty Killer as one of his biggest inspirations.
The show is being promoted by CJ Milan, the driving force behind the Reggae Fest Tour and Vybz Kartel’s two historic, sold-out performances in April. It also marks Bounty Killer’s first U.S. performance in over 15 years, following the reinstatement of his visa earlier this year.
Bounty Killer’s visa was reinstated in March, allowing him to briefly visit the U.S., where he reconnected with some of his children and linked up with global music mogul DJ Khaled, one of his longtime supporters and a champion of Jamaican music.
