Dancehall hitmaker Masicka reveals a new dimension of his artistry with the release of his 8-track EP Her Name Is Love, out December 19 via Def Jam Recordings.
The project blends dancehall with touches of Latin, Afrobeats, pop, and R&B, anchored by warm guitar lines and mixed entirely by his longtime collaborator Dunwell.
It also features a collaboration, “Please” with American rapper Lola Brooke. Among the highlights are the melodic fan-favorite “Keys” and the previously released “Rich Sex,” featured on Rvssian’s hit juggling Story Book Riddim, which has accumulated over 23 million YouTube views to date.
This sonic evolution mirrors the emotional shift Masicka makes on Her Name Is Love. Known for gritty storytelling and commanding delivery, he pivots into a more vulnerable, romantic space - one shaped by admiration, passion, intimacy, and the profound ways women inspire him. The EP celebrates not only romantic energy but also the presence, strength, and influence of women throughout his life and musical journey.
The visual world accompanying the project deepens this tone. Warm lighting, blurred edges, romantic silhouettes, and imagery capturing the subtle tension between man and woman create an aesthetic that feels both cinematic and intimate. Shot by Yanick “The Therapist” Reid, the visuals evoke a Caribbean romance that is confident, sensual, and layered - honoring vulnerability and masculinity without contradiction, and echoing the EP’s celebration of women, desire, closeness, and emotional richness.
Masicka originally intended to release his third studio album, following the well-acclaimed 438 and Generation of Kings, but the project has been pushed to the first leg of 2026.
