Trinidadian rising talent Jimmy October continues to expand his multi-genre catalog with his latest single, “Time.”
The track blends soca, calypso, dancehall, reggae, and afrobeats influences, produced by frequent collaborator Brooklyn Decent (known for work with Kes and Shenseea) alongside Jelani “Pops” Shaw. It follows October’s recent spotlight in Billboard’s monthly Fresh Picks for his single “Bam Bam,” further underscoring his growing global presence.
October has steadily built momentum over the years. In 2024, he released his EP From October With Love, featuring Mical Teja and Coutain, while the year prior he toured the U.S. twice in support of Ruger and Kes. His earlier accolades include a feature in FADER Magazine (2018) and recognition in Complex Magazine’s “10 Artists to Watch from Trinidad and Tobago” (2019). “Time” arrives under Ineffable Records.
In a recent conversation with Kaboom Magazine, producer Brooklyn Decent, who also produced “Bam Bam”, reflected on their Billboard mention: “We’re on the correct trajectory. I can’t wait to share more music with the world.”
