Jamaica international basketball center Nick Richards has been traded in a three-team deal as NBA franchises made late moves ahead of the trade deadline. The transaction sends Richards to the Chicago Bulls, marking a new chapter in the Kingston native’s NBA journey.

The deal involved the Phoenix Suns, Chicago Bulls, and Milwaukee Bucks. Milwaukee agreed to send Cole Anthony and Amir Coffey to Phoenix in exchange for Richards and Nigel Hayes-Davis. The trade was later expanded to include Chicago, with the Bulls sending center/forward Ousmane Dieng to Milwaukee.

Richards, listed at 7-foot-0 and 245 pounds, is in his sixth NBA season and holds career averages of 6.9 points on 63.1 percent shooting, 5.6 rebounds, and 0.8 blocks in 17.2 minutes per game across 285 appearances (110 starts) with the Suns (2024–26) and Charlotte Hornets (2020–25).

He has recorded 49 double-doubles and 62 games with 10-plus rebounds, including a career-high 8.2 rebounds per game last season. Drafted 42nd overall by Charlotte in 2020 after three seasons at University of Kentucky, Richards earned First Team All-SEC and SEC All-Defensive Team honours during his senior year.
