Hawaiian singer Maoli continues his landmark year with a reggae-inspired country blend on a reimagined version of his chart-topping album. “We didn’t just remix the album - we reimagined it. Last Sip of Summer was born in the sun, but now it’s soaked in reggae,” he said

Hawaiian superstar Maoli drops a fully reimagined version of his acclaimed album Last Sip of Summer this Friday, which originally debuted at #1 on the U.S. Reggae Albums Chart.

Titled Last Sip of Summer (Island Vibe Edition), the project breathes new life into each track while staying true to his signature island sound.

“Last Sip of Summer was always about capturing a feeling - now the whole album breathes island air,” he said. “We didn’t just remix the album - we reimagined it. Last Sip of Summer was born in the sun, but now it’s soaked in reggae. Every track hits warmer, heavier, and closer to where we come from.”

In a feature story, a prestigious Rolling Stone editor described the project, writing, “It’s a country record, but it’s true to Awong. He’s not stretching or playing a part. He’s as country as it gets, and this record was his way of letting the world know.”

2025 marks a landmark year for Maoli, who is set to make his debut appearance at the iconic Grand Ole Opry on November 21. This milestone follows his national television debut earlier this year with a performance of “Last Sip of Summer” on The TODAY Show, and a memorable moment on American Idol, where he surprised a fan competing on the show.

The Hawaiian hitmaker's 15-year journey began in seventh grade with a ukulele and evolved into a chart-topping career blending island reggae and country soul. Known for hits like “Breaking My Heart,” “Whisper,” and “Rock Easy,” his sophomore LP Rock Easy reached Billboard’s Top 5 Reggae charts.

He later earned multiple iHeart Island Awards, including Group and Album of the Year. With over 35 million Spotify streams from covers like Brett Young’s “Mercy” and their collaboration “Broke Heart Break,” Maoli continues to bridge island and country sounds, having sold over 50,000 tickets across Hawaii and the U.S. on his Maoli Music Overload tours.
