St. Mary rising talent Complexsi
Emerging dancehall artiste Complexsi is carving his musical journey, shaped by life circumstances and a deep-rooted passion for the craft.
The St. Mary talent first discovered his love for music in primary school, where he made an early impression performing at a Jamaica Day concert. “I had no choice… I started to learn how to write music, count bars on a riddim, and construct proper songs,” he shared.
He began recording officially in ninth grade as part of a group known as “The Entity,” a collective of young, promising acts, which has since evolved into RichWay Productions - a more structured team expanding into music, video production, and merchandising.
Since then, Complexsi, whose given name is Alex McCalla, has released 11 official tracks, including “Out Deh,” “Legacy,” “Zone Out,” and his latest single “Gyal Pro.”
“Mood Swing” currently leads his catalogue with over 20,000 streams, followed by “90’s Rude Bwoy” with 16,000 and counting. “I’m hungry for this music… so I have no doubt that a place is in this industry for me,” he added, maintaining a focused outlook as he continues to build his career.
