Updated: Mar 14, 2023

The prestigious magazine promises a night of celebration and will debut its annual music awards show. The event will be held at Kings Theatre

A night of celebration by Caribbean Elite Group

Caribbean Elite Group (CEG), publishers of "Caribbean Elite Magazine", launched its inaugural award show entitled "Caribbean Music Awards". The show will debut in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Kings Theatre. CEG is known for showcasing and celebrating all forms of Caribbean culture and now the Group is producing an award show that emphasizes, honors, and celebrates the talent that has contributed to Caribbean music.

With the show set to take place in the historic Kings Theatre, show organizers, Dane Taylor, CEO of Caribbean Elite Group, Prince Forde, President of Caribbean Elite Group and Monique Blake, Manager for Swizz Beatz Productions, Vice President of Marketing & Music for Verzuz, and the President of Music and Special Projects for Clokkemaker Agency observed a lack of celebratory opportunities specifically designed for those of Caribbean descent. Together, they sought out the best way to show a higher level of appreciation for the culture and music they love during Caribbean Heritage Month.

The Show has already established over 20 award categories that will honor some of the Caribbean’s most talented as well as emerging stars across the Reggae, Dancehall, Soca and other derivatives of these popular genres such as Kompa and Zouk. Some of the categories will include "Album of the Year", "Song of the Year", "Producer of the Year", "Breakthrough Artist of the Year", "Video of the Year", "Carnival Band of the Year", "Caribbean Music Event of the Year" and many more.

"We are particularly proud that the initiative was conceptualized and is being curated by Caribbean people for Caribbean people. Since we started the magazine, highlighting the best of Caribbean culture, we saw an opportunity to create an awards platform indicative of the richness, vibrancy, and musical genius coming from the Caribbean", said Dane Taylor, Executive Producer.

The Caribbean Music Award Show will feature live performances from some of the biggest names in Caribbean music. Organizers and show producers have also designed several prestigious awards that acknowledged the contribution of the recipient over the span of their career. The Elite Icon Award and The Lifetime Achievement Award presented to distinguished entertainers for their musical excellence over the course of their life stand to be crowd favorites.

"We want Caribbean music enthusiasts from around the world to contribute and join the selection process. The Caribbean Music Award community will be of not just fans of our music but ambassadors that share the same vision and goals of highlighting and taking our music to the next level", added Prince Forde, Executive Producer.
