Cardi B’s Am I The Drama? breaks records and dominates everywhere
Cardi B’s highly anticipated sophomore album Am I The Drama? is already rewriting history. Within hours of its release, th LP was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), making it the first and fastest album by a female artist in U.S. history to reach that milestone.
The album features her blockbuster singles, the nine-times Platinum “WAP” featuring Megan Thee Stallion, and “Up” certified five-times Platinum—both of which helped propel the project past one million album-equivalent units. The RIAA confirmed the certification on social media, sealing another record-breaking moment in Cardi’s career.
With this Platinum milestone, she joins Lady Gaga as the only female artists to have a 2025 album certified Platinum by the RIAA.
The wins didn’t stop there. Am I The Drama? also became the fastest album by a female rapper this decade to reach #1 on U.S. iTunes - just 30 minutes after release, surpassing Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 (51 minutes). On Apple Music, Cardi currently dominates the charts, occupying 9 of the top 10 spots.
The spellbinding opening track “Dead” featuring Summer Walker soared straight to #1, followed by “Magnet” at #2, and “Safe” with Kehlani at #4, already surpassing 2 million views. Other standouts include the Selena Gomez collaboration “Puck It Up” (#6), the Latin-inspired “Bodega Baddie” (#7), and the fiery diss track “Pretty & Petty” (#8), which fuels Cardi’s long-running feud with Bia.
The 23-track album, arriving seven years after her Grammy-winning debut Invasion of Privacy, boasts a star-studded lineup. Collaborations span generations and genres, including Janet Jackson, two features with Summer Walker, and standout tracks alongside Lizzo, Tyla, and more. With such a powerhouse roster and Cardi’s commanding presence, Am I The Drama? already destined for Grammy consideration.
