Yaksta calls for awareness and authenticity on “Roar”

Reggae and dancehall recording artiste Yaksta drops new single “Roar,” taking aim at fake people and societal deception.

Produced by Bush Music and Kings Way Music Group, the track forms part of his forthcoming sophomore album The Microphone Saved Me. Speaking on the record, Yaksta shared, “Roar is about removing the blindfolds from our minds. Too many people are lost in illusion - this is a call to wake up, stand firm, and reconnect with truth.”

With “Roar,” Yaksta delivers a fierce, bold, and rebellious message rooted in consciousness, seeking to challenge the erasure of ancestry, history, and identity while encouraging listeners to think beyond societal conditioning.

Yaksta, born Kemaul Martin, has established himself as one of Jamaica’s leading reggae and dancehall voices. Known for his storytelling, genre-blending style, socially conscious lyrics, and motivational anthems, he first gained international recognition with “Ambition,” now regarded as a modern roots classic.
