Dancehall giant Vybz Kartel marks another international milestone with a hidden feature on Travis Scott’s highly anticipated Jackboys 2 album, joining South African Afrobeats star Tyla on the track “PBP.”
The 17-track project, released on Sunday under Scott’s Cactus Jack label, continues the legacy of 2019’s Jackboys compilation by fusing global sounds with trap-heavy production and star-studded features. It includes collaborations with GloRilla, Don Toliver, 21 Savage, Kodak Black, SahBabii, and Waka Flocka Flame.
Kartel makes an impactful intro on the track, seamlessly matching Travis Scott’s verses and Tyla’s silky, sultry vocals. His undeniable lyrical prowess brings a raw dancehall energy that elevates “PBP” to a true cross-genre standout.
Rumors of Kartel’s involvement had been swirling for weeks, especially after reports emerged that Travis Scott gifted custom Jackboys-branded Lamborghinis to several contributors, including the dancehall legend.
Since his release from prison last year, Vybz Kartel has become highly sought after for international collaborations, with tracks alongside Drake, Cardi B, and Nicki Minaj reportedly in the pipeline. He’s also set to appear on the upcoming “Shake It To The Max” remix alongside Moliy and Stefflon Don.
Kartel is set to perform on the main stage at Wireless Festival this Sunday, as part of a three-night headline run by Canadian superstar Drake. Dancehall will be strongly represented, with Popcaan, Spice, and Masicka, who is making his Wireless debut, also featured on the lineup, alongside the African giant Burna Boy.
Following his appearance in London, the "Fever" deejay is scheduled to return to the Reggae Sumfest stage this Friday, July 18, marking his first performance at the iconic festival in over 13 years
