Dancehall phenom Vybz Kartel is showing no signs of slowing down, already preparing another album, The Sun, just months after the release of his latest project, God & Time.

Kartel revealed the upcoming project via an Instagram post, sharing a promotional caption for the album, which is being created in collaboration with producer Chambah Music, whom he has worked closely with in recent months.

The Sun is set for release on December 18. While no official tracklist has been revealed, sources told Kaboom Magazine that the project is expected to feature around 16 tracks.

The announcement continues a prolific period for the Jamaican superstar, who has released three projects over the past two years since his release from prison.

In January 2025, Kartel released the 10th-anniversary edition of Viking (Vybz Is King), featuring “God Is the Greatest,” which became one of his biggest songs following his release. His Grammy-nominated album Heart & Soul followed on August 29, 2025.

Kartel continued the run with God & Time on June 5 this year, another project he is targeting for Grammy recognition. The album includes the title track alongside several major collaborations, including “Panic” featuring Shenseea and “Hype Life” with Mavado.

Now, rather than allowing God & Time to close his 2026 album campaign, Kartel appears ready to end the year with another full-length body of work.
