Dancehall star Valiant continues to cement his status as the genre’s new-gen leader, wrapping up a successful month-and-a-half run on his debut Prove Them Wrong: The Passenger Princess Edition North American tour.

Spanning 20 shows across Canada and the United States, the tour concluded on Sunday in Minneapolis, marking a historic moment, Valiant became the first new-generation dancehall artist to successfully complete a tour of this run. He also commemorated the milestone with a plaque after selling over 10,000 tickets across the run.

“This moment is more than a celebration - it’s a milestone for the new generation of dancehall, a journey from the ‘kotch-e-hat’ days to now,” he proudly shared in an Instagram post. “It wasn’t easy. In the middle of it all, Hurricane Melissa struck my beloved Jamaica, and every part of me wanted to cut the tour short and fly home.”

“It was a great experience. This showed me that I have a lot more work to do in my career, and bridges are there to be crossed. So more work need to be done, bigger catalog, bigger everything,” he told Kaboom Magazine.

The tour surged on the momentum of his hit “Passenger Princess,” featured on Rvssian’s Story Book Riddim, with the run characterized by a strong turnout from his predominantly female fanbase.

His rising global presence has been evident throughout the year, from his debut performance at City Splash in the UK, where local fans showed overwhelming love, to his surprise appearance at Notting Hill Carnival in August.

“It was a great experience. This showed me that I have a lot more work to do in my career, and bridges are there to be crossed. So more work need to be done, bigger catalog, bigger everything.”

Valiant ends this chapter with plenty more ahead, already paving a clear path toward an even brighter future on the international stage.
