Respected dancehall producer TroubleMekka is enjoying strong momentum with his latest release on the Big Energy Riddim, as Skeng’s “Ketch E Dip” surges past 500,000 views in four days.
The riddim already features tracks from Jquan and Chronic Law, with Skeng’s song helping mark a creative shift and a rediscovery of Trouble Mekka’s sonic identity.
"I have been Known for more conscious-driven releases in the past, this project marks a deliberate move toward a higher-energy, more upbeat and modern dancehall sound. A moment of rebranding - aligning the music with the natural evolution of both the label and the artists I wanted to work with," shared Trouble Mekka, whose given name is Dominic McDonald.
With the momentum building, the next wave of releases will feature Tommy Lee, Ayetian, Nigy Boy, Najerrri, and Iwaata, with more names still to come. "With each release I want to push a fresh yet authentic dancehall direction - bold, exciting and pushing my creativity," he said.
