Dancehall star Tommy Lee Sparta will take centre stage alongside Ruff Cut Band at the Chinese Benevolent Association (CBA) on Saturday, October 31, for the debut of MAIN ACT.

The Halloween atmosphere will come alive from the moment patrons arrive, with a graveyard-themed entrance leading into a haunted-house setting. Costumes are encouraged as fans prepare for an intimate live performance from Tommy Lee, backed by Ruff Cut.

“With Halloween becoming so popular in Jamaica, Tommy Lee was really the inspiration for this,” MAIN ACT promoter Theon Davy shared. “He loved the idea, so since my partner and I have experience with themed events, it was a no-brainer. His ‘Uncle Demon’ persona and humour match the theme perfectly.”

MAIN ACT is being introduced as a recurring mini-concert series, with each staging centred around one featured artiste performing with a live band.

“Guests can expect an up-close and personal experience, almost like a one-on-one show, watching their favourite artiste perform hit after hit backed by the great Ruff Cut Band,” he explained.

For the organisers, the concept is also about giving patrons something beyond a traditional artiste booking and creating an experience capable of competing for their attention.

“It’s crucial because promoters are competing with Netflix, and ‘Netflix and chill’ is a real thing,” Davy said. “Creating unique experiences to get people off the couch is a must, and that’s what MAIN ACT strives to do. We create live experiences through themed concepts and, most importantly, an intimate approach.”

The event begins at 9 p.m. Advance tickets are J$6,000 for general admission and J$8,000 for VIP, increasing to J$8,000 and J$10,000 respectively at the gate.

While Tommy Lee will lead the inaugural staging, organisers are already looking beyond the debut, with plans to continue MAIN ACT as an annual experience.

“He loved the idea, so since my partner and I have experience with themed events, it was a no-brainer. His ‘Uncle Demon’ persona and humour match the theme perfectly.”

“Our lead act, Tommy Lee, has already expressed interest in 2027, so look out for 2027,” Theon Davy added.
