Hawaiian reggae singer J Boog has earned another certification, as his single “Sunshine Girl,” featuring the late reggae singer Peetah Morgan of Morgan Heritage, was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America on Monday, January 12. The certification recognizes sales and streaming equivalents surpassing 500,000 units in the United States.

The song was produced by Gramps Morgan, a leading member of Morgan Heritage, and Peter Morgan's borther. Released from J Boog’s 2011 sophomore album Backyard Boogie, which dropped in October 2011 and peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart.

“Sunshine Girl” becomes the second track from the project to reach a major certification milestone. The song has amassed over 42 million views on YouTube to date.

His colossal hit single “Let’s Do It Again,” from the same EP, previously achieved Platinum status in February 2024 after surpassing one million units in combined sales and streams.

The song has also been certified Silver in the United Kingdom, earning the accolade in November 2022 for exceeding 200,000 units in sales and streaming equivalents.
