Spotify Celebrates 60 Years of Notting Hill Carnival With Koffee, Shenseea and V’ghn

The inaugural Carnival Sounds Live series sees Caribbean stars revisit classics while celebrating the music and culture behind the iconic London festival

Koffee pays homage to Bob Marley ahead of upcoming album

Spotify has launched its first-ever Carnival Sounds Live series in partnership with Notting Hill Carnival, as the iconic celebration marks 60 years of Caribbean music and culture in the UK.

Among the featured performers is Jamaican reggae star Koffee, who delivers a special cover of Bob Marley and the Wailers’ classic “Three Little Birds.” The iconic reggae song was first recorded in 1977 at Island Studios in Notting Hill, giving the performance a fitting connection to the Carnival celebration.

Koffee also paid tribute to the reggae icon while revealing that her upcoming album includes a nod to his influence. “Bob Marley’s music means a lot to me,” she said. “I’ve got a song coming on my album where I say, ‘Big up Bob Marley, for he set the ring for me.’” The album is set for release later this year.

Speaking on her connection to the UK and its Caribbean community, Koffee added, “I think it’s the cultural flavor, the mix of flavor here. It’s such a beautiful thing to see the culture being embraced, the Caribbean culture. London, to me, feels like my second home.”

The series also features Jamaican dancehall star Shenseea and Grenadian soca artiste V’ghn, with each performer revisiting songs connected to Caribbean music and Carnival while also showcasing their own material.
