Shenseea Wins Best Female Dancehall/Reggae Artiste at 2026 AFRIMMA

The Jamaican superstar’s latest international honour adds to her growing crossover success and strong ties with African music, including collaborations with Wizkid, Fireboy DML, Shatta Wale and Moliy

Jamaican superstar Shenseea has won Best Female Dancehall/Reggae Artiste at the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA), adding another international accolade to her growing résumé.

The award reflects Shenseea’s cross-border appeal and continued crossover success, with the dancehall star remaining in high demand across international markets.

Shenseea is no stranger to working with African artistes, having collaborated with some of the continent’s biggest names. She teamed up with Nigerian superstar Wizkid on “Work Me Out” from her sophomore album Never Gets Late Here, while her collaboration with Nigerian singer Fireboy DML, “Diana,” has amassed more than 80 million streams on Spotify.

Her African connections also include Ghana’s Shatta Wale and, more recently, Moliy on the global hit “Shake It to the Max (Fly)” remix alongside Skillibeng. The track recently surpassed 500 million streams on Spotify, becoming Shenseea’s most-streamed song on the platform to date.

The awards were held on September 12 in Dallas, Texas, with several major African stars among the winners.

Davido claimed Album of the Year for 5ive, while Tems and Ruger took home Best Female West Africa and Best Male West Africa, respectively. Patoranking earned Best Male Dancehall/Reggae Artiste.
