Jamaican superstar Shenseea had a massive night on Thursday, August 29, making history with a WNBA halftime performance before collecting awards later at Brooklyn’s King Theatre during the third annual Caribbean Music Awards.

Dazzling in a glamorous white look, Shenseea won Female Dancehall Artist of the Year, with her second consecutive victory at the awards.

"I'm grateful to God. Thank you to my Shenyengs who have supported my musical journey through the years, and to everyone who has contributed to my artistry and helped me become a better human being. When I was a kid, I always wanted to be an artist, and to know that I’m literally winning awards for being the best female artist. It’s crazy. How did I achieve this? I put God first, work hard, and mind mi business," she shared later on her Instagram story.

Earlier in the evening, Shenseea made history at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, becoming the first Jamaican female artist to perform during a halftime show at a New York Liberty WNBA game against the Washington Mystics. The performance was coordinated by New York–based top-tier promoter CJ Milan, serving as the perfect lead-up to her Reggae Fest Massive Weekend over the Labor Day holiday.

Shenseea is set to return to Barclays on Saturday, where she will share the stage with dancehall icons Bounty Killer, Alkaline, Elephant Man, Capleton, Mr. Vegas, Tony Matterhorn, and more for two nights of nonstop Caribbean celebration.
