Shenseea returns to Afro Nation as Valiant makes festival debut

Dancehall stars Shenseea and Valiant are among the first wave of artistes announced for Afro Nation Portugal 2027, set for June 9–11 at Praia da Rocha beach in Portimão, Portugal.

The Jamaican stars join a lineup headlined by Nigerian Afrobeats heavyweights Davido and Rema, alongside Omah Lay and Congolese star Fally Ipupa, as Afro Nation once again brings together some of the biggest names from Africa, the Caribbean and beyond.

For Shenseea, the appearance continues her long-running relationship with the Afro Nation brand. She made her festival debut at Afro Nation Puerto Rico in 2022 before appearing at the Miami edition in 2023 alongside fellow dancehall star Mavado. She later performed at Afro Nation Detroit in 2024 as one of the major dancehall additions to the lineup.

For Valiant, the Portugal staging will mark his Afro Nation debut and another step in his growing international presence. The dancehall star has continued to expand beyond Jamaica with appearances at City Splash in London and Notting Hill Carnival, alongside touring across North America.
