Sean Paul continues to solidify his global legacy
Global dancehall superstar Sean Paul’s 2005 smash hit “Temperature” has been certified BRIT Certified Multi-Platinum (3×) by the British Phonographic Industry on Friday, April 10. The milestone reflects the track surpassing 1.8 million units in the United Kingdom, as measured by the Official Charts Company.
Released as part of his third studio album The Trinity, the single was produced on Rohan “Jah Snowcone” Fuller’s Applause riddim. It was first certified Platinum (600,000 units) in September 2019 and 14 years after its release, and has since tripled that figure, highlighting its enduring popularity.
“Temperature” has also achieved multi-Platinum success globally, including 3× Platinum in the United States with over 3,000,000 units and in Canada with 240,000 units, further underscoring its worldwide impact.
The track peaked at No. 11 on the UK Singles Chart, where it spent 23 weeks. Its official music video has amassed over 485 million views on YouTube, while the song has surpassed 1.3 billion streams on Spotify, cementing its status as one of Sean Paul’s biggest and most timeless hits.
