Sean Paul commits to personally match every dollar donated to Food For The Poor Jamaica, up to US$50,000.
International dancehall artiste Sean Paul is once again rallying behind his homeland as Jamaica begins to recover from the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa.
With thousands losing their homes, roofs, and livelihoods due to the storm, the artiste has partnered with Food For The Poor Jamaica to deliver direct relief to affected communities.
Through the Sean Paul Foundation, he has teamed up with the organisation to distribute more than 1,000 relief packages filled with food and toiletries. In a post shared to Instagram, he highlighted videos from the warehouse as volunteers prepared the items for delivery.
“Right now, my island of Jamaica is going through a really tough time,” Sean Paul said. “Grateful for every hand that showed up to help in packing over 1000 relief packages of food & and toiletries.”
To further strengthen the initiative, Sean Paul has pledged to personally match all contributions - up to US$50,000 - effectively doubling the support reaching families in need.
This latest relief effort continues the artiste’s longstanding partnership with Food For The Poor, through which he has previously helped provide food, essential supplies, and emergency support to vulnerable communities across the island.
“Hurricane Melissa has caused serious damage - families displaced, homes destroyed, and communities struggling to recover. Through the Sean Paul Foundation, we’re bringing relief to those who need it most. I’m asking all my fans, friends, and supporters worldwide, if you can, please give what you can. Every donation counts, no matter how small. Together, we can make a big difference,” he continued.
The Sean Paul Foundation is dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities in Jamaica and beyond, providing emergency relief, educational assistance, and community development.
The Foundation has long partnered with Food For The Poor, distributing food, toiletries, and tablets during the pandemic and, in 2023, contributing to its Band Camp music and life-skills programme. This year, it donated JM$1.5 million to the initiative.
The Foundation has also supported the Alpha School of Music, donating US$6,000 toward equipment and maintenance. Alpha recently celebrated its first cohort of graduates who benefited from the partnership.
“Right now, my island of Jamaica is going through a really tough time. I’m asking all my fans, friends, and supporters worldwide, if you can, please give what you can. Every donation counts, no matter how small. Together, we can make a big difference.”
He encourages fans and supporters to contribute through the campaign page or via the link in his social media bio, urging everyone to support Jamaica during this difficult time.
