Sean Paul’s collaboration with American singer Alexis Jordan, “Got 2 Luv U,” has been awarded Platinum certification in the United Kingdom by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI)

“Got 2 Luv U,” Sean Paul’s 2011 collaboration with American singer Alexis Jordan, has surpassed 600,000 units in the United Kingdom, earning a Platinum certification from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).
The single was first certified Silver in the UK in 2013 before earning Gold in July 2022 after surpassing 400,000 units. Its new Platinum status marks another major milestone for one of Sean Paul’s biggest international crossover hits.
The certification also gives Sean Paul his 10th Platinum-certified solo single in the UK. Five of his biggest hits - including “Get Busy,” “Temperature,” “No Lie” featuring Dua Lipa, “Breathe” with Blu Cantrell, and his Grammy Award-winning album Dutty Rock—have all earned multi-Platinum certifications in Britain, further underscoring his enduring popularity in one of his strongest international markets.
Produced by Norwegian hitmaking duo Mikkel S. Eriksen and Tor Erik Hermansen of Stargate, the track served as the lead single from Sean Paul’s fifth studio album, Tomahawk Technique.
Originally written by OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder as an unreleased breakup song titled “Not To Love You,” the record was later reworked for Sean Paul, who penned two new verses and changed the title. Alexis Jordan retained Tedder’s original chorus and third verse while adding refreshed lyrics, helping transform the song into an international hit.
