Rihanna's "Friend of Mine" Featured on Upcoming Smurfs Movie Soundtrack

She may have shelved her planned comeback performances after reportedly facing another pregnancy setback, but fans of Bajan billionaire superstar Rihanna can still look forward to new music this Friday.

Rihanna is set to release "Friend of Mine", a brand-new track from the upcoming Smurfs movie, in which she voices the iconic character Smurfette.

Paramount Pictures UK has revealed the official trailer and poster for Smurfs, the highly anticipated reboot of the beloved film franchise, slated to hit cinemas nationwide on July 18, 2025. The trailer showcases "Friend of Mine," Rihanna’s latest single from the film’s official soundtrack.

At the recent Met Gala earlier this month, Rihanna shared that she’s happy about the baby news; however, it won’t delay her plans for her ninth studio album.

Directed by Chris Miller (Shrek the Third, Puss in Boots) and co-directed by Matt Landon, Smurfs is based on the original works by Peyo and features a screenplay by Pam Brady. The film boasts an all-star voice cast led by Rihanna, among many others.
