Jamaican striker Javon East signs with Hapoel Haifa, subject to medical, after 2.5 successful years with Saprissa


Javon East, set for a new challenge


Reggae Boyz striker Javon East has signed with Israeli Premier League club Hapoel Haifa until the end of the season, subject to medical. The deal also includes an option for an extension into the next season.


East recently parted ways with Costa Rican side Deportivo Saprissa after two and a half successful years. During his time Saprissa, he scored 54 goals in 144 appearances and helped the club secure six titles.


The striker is set to arrive in Israel in the coming days. Throughout his career in Jamaica and Costa Rica, East has scored 125 league goals, including his recent stint with Deportivo Esperanza, where he scored 15 goals and provided five assists in 36 appearances this season.



The former Portmore United striker has played 20 times for Jamaica since making his debut in 2018, scoring twice. His last appearance for the Reggae Boyz came against Costa Rica during the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
