Red Rose For Gregory star-Studded Lineup

The annual "Red Rose For Gregory" event has never disappointed fans. This staging will be no different this year with a star-studded lineup featuring Grammy award-winning Gerald Alston and The Manhattans, JC Lodge, Deniece Williams, Etana, Errol Dunkley, Hezron, Robert Minott, Mary Isaacs, Ray Isaacs, and Khausion.

The concert is set to take place at Hope Gardens, in Kingston on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 14th, 2023, from 6 pm to 12 am. "Our line-up is spectacular and always top tier. We ensure that when patrons come to our event, they leave feeling entertained and fulfilled knowing that they are supporting an event for a great cause", said June Isaacs.

The Gregory Isaacs Foundation was launched in 2010, in memory of the late reggae singer. It began after the offering collected at Isaacs’ funeral service in November 2010, was offered to Walker’s Place of Safety by his widow, June Isaacs. While Gregory Isaacs was alive, he got involved with this institution to assist the children who had been identified as being at risk. His widow decided to keep alive his charitable contribution to the home. Other beneficiaries include Black Harmony Basic School, St Barnabas Early Childhood and Development Centre, and Patricia House. "This event seeks to celebrate the musical legacy of the legendary Gregory Isaacs, OD; assist the foundation and its mandate and offer quality entertainment to lovers of exquisite music," added June Isaacs.

Gerald Alston and The Manhattans

Performer JC Lodge is known for her melodious tunes with singles such as 'Someone Loves You, Honey', and 'Telephone Love’'. Her new single 'Love Uprising', peaked at number 2 on the New York Reggae Chart, taking her across the world. Gerald Alston and The Manhattans recorded over 40 hits on the Billboard R&B chart as early as the 1960s. Hit singles such as 'Kiss and Say Goodbye', and 'Shining Star', are just a few fan favorites that patrons can look out for.

One of the most distinctive talents in the industry, soprano voice, Deniece Williams, recognized for soul songs like 'Too Much, Too Little, Too Late' and 'Let’s Hear It for the Boys', is among those headlining this year's concert. Additionally, the event will be her final show as she is retiring. She will be backed by Fab 5. Now that’s only three of the many talents on the concert’s roster, as Red Rose for Gregory is gearing up to be one of this year's most memorable events.

Gregory Isaacs who passed away on October 25, 2010, was one of Jamaica's most beloved vocalists. Isaacs' career stretched over 30 years. He recorded numerous hit songs such as 'Front Door', 'Night Nurse', 'Lonely Soldier', 'Extra Classic', 'All I Have Is Love', and many others. He became an international hit in the late 70s and made an appearance in the film Rockers performing 'Slavemaster' after he signed to Virgin Records in 1978. In the 1980s he signed to Charisma Records and released his albums 'The Lonely Lover' and 'More Gregory'. 'The Lonely Lover' became one of his two well-known nicknames, the other one being 'Cool Ruler'.
