Dancehall star Mavado dominated headlines on Tuesday night following his long-awaited return to Jamaica. his first visit in nearly a decade, 2017 to be exact.


The Gully Gad, who left the island in 2017, has been spotted back on the rock, including at the Spanish Court Hotel in Kingston, where he was seen alongside Government Ministers and Senators Abka Fitz-Henley and Delano Seiveright.


Photos and videos circulating on social media show the “So Special” deejay enjoying time with his entourage, including dancehall artist Jay-A, at various locations across Jamaica. His daughter, Skye Diamond, also shared heartwarming stories celebrating her father’s homecoming.



While Mavado has yet to issue an official statement, his return has already sent waves of excitement throughout the dancehall fraternity. With the buzz surrounding his homecoming, sources suggest there’s a possibility of a major live show later this year in Jamaica.


Mavado recently performed at the One Link event in Miami, after an electrifying set earlier this year at Reggae Land in the UK, where he thrilled a crowd of over 50,000 fans with his high-energy performance.
