Dancehall superstar Masicka continues to establish himself as one of dancehall’s main faces among the new generation. The deejay has officially released his latest single titled, "Tyrant" on Wednesday which has already secured the #1 spot on the YouTube trending chart in Jamaica, surpassing the 560,000-viewership mark on the platform.
Similar to several songs from his ”438” album such as "King", "Suicide Note" among many others, they all became colossal hits with multi-million streaming and viewership across all digital platforms. It's safe to say that Masicka is at the level currently where his career is on automatic and his releases gain popularity rapidly.
In the last few weeks, "Tyrant" had already been generating a huge buzz from the moment Masicka hinted at its upcoming release on his Instagram page. It was no different when he also announced the release date of the video, shot by the well-known videography team, "Now Or Never". The video pays tribute to the late legendary dancer, Bogle aka Mr. Wacky and features legendary dancer/choreographer, Colo Colo sharing the infamous Bogle ‘Wacky Dip’ dance move.
Without using gimmicks or popular trending topics that feature in most songs currently; Masicka continues to thrive in his own lane; consistently delivering with hard-hitting lyrics, flows, and concepts and in the eyes of most, already securing his name among the Dancehall elite, while being one of the best songwriters in the genre.
The intensification of Masicka’s career received an official stamp earlier this year; inking a deal, joining the already long and elite group of artistes on the roster of New-York based, world renowned label - Def Jam Records. The label's current roster bolsters international acts such as Justin Bieber, 2 Chainz, and Dave East, just to name a few.

After his masterful and widely successful debut album, "438", which set some of the highest standards, a Dancehall artiste can set for a body of work, Masicka is already working on a sophomore album in which he will include the singles; "Tyrant" and "Pieces", a single he released in February featuring fellow dancehall star Jahshii.
Masicka is destined for greatness, and while he works on his legacy in dancehall history at only 29 years of age, there's no denying his current place among the game's elite.
