Dancehall artiste Jquan has joined forces with established producer Week.day for his latest single, “Spectacular,” a bouncy, catchy track released under Tru Ambassador Next Generation.
Blending dancehall with R&B influences, Jquan rides the captivating production with melodic vocals, once again showcasing his versatility and ability to move comfortably between sounds.
“This song was easy to cook up. Jquan is a singer, so it was easy for him to find melodies on a beat like this,” Week.day said of their chemistry in the studio.
The St Catherine-based producer also explained that while the pair approach music from different perspectives, their shared understanding of what makes a record connect helped shape the final sound.
“We listen to music differently, but at the same time we know what will hit and what needs to be done to ensure it hits. So we just went over those fine details during the mix and put our own suggestions to make it what it is,” he explained.
“Spectacular” has already made an immediate impact in Bermuda, a market Week.day says has consistently supported his work.
“This song was easy to cook up. Jquan is a singer, so it was easy for him to find melodies on a beat like this.”
“That’s a very important market. Bermuda has always been supporting my projects from day one. Almost all my releases have debuted at number one in Bermuda. I love the support that I get from them; it’s always love,” he shared.
With “Spectacular” marking their latest link-up, Week.day, whose real name is Jahvanie Morrison, confirmed that fans can expect more music from the pair moving forward. “We will be working on some more hits moving forward,” he added.
